Mikhail Kerzhakov is the first goalkeeper of FK Zenit St. Petersburg (Russian Premier League) this season. He got experience (34 years old) and learned how to be a professional during his career. He quit drinking alcohol during the season and reduced eating sugar and is more fit than ever before. Last week he won the Super Cup and got a clean sheet. With an average score of 53 last season, he is ranked as the 126th goalkeeper in Sorare. Too bad Ortwin de Wolf will start the season as 2nd goalkeeper at Antwerp. So this decision to start with Kerzhakov was not hard to make.
Abdoulaye Seck is my best performing central defender of last season. He wins almost all aerial duels and got high accurate passing Hopefully he gets a clean sheet and maybe can score with his head, like he did last season. He still wants to earn a transfer to a top 5 league in Europe and played very well in a friendly against Monaco. Seck is consistent, so it is a save choice to make him my captain, and get 20% more points. Derijck is a starter at Kortrijk as well, but his scores are way lower.
Ewoud Pletinckx only 20 years old central defender with a golden attitude. He already captained his team Zulte Waregem in 4 games in 2020. Some little injuries threw him back in his progress, but it seems he won back his starting spot in the team. Maybe not as a central defender, but he can play as a right back or defensive midfielder as well. I choose him as the extra player, as I don’t have other players playing this weekend. The extra player should be a defender, midfielder or forward.
Nicolas de La Cruz is a common card, so I got him for free when starting in the Rookie League. Manchester United is interested in him, maybe if Donny van de Beek will leave, as there are some rumours he will. As most competitions in Europe did not yet start, I don’t have a rare card to play. Which means the score Nicolas achieve, will be reduced by 40,5%. I could have chosen for Sven Kums, but was on the bench in the Conference game on Thursday evening.
Jeong Sang-Bin is a huge talent from South Korea and plays for Suwon Samsung Bluewings. He is only 19 years old, already an international and even scored at his debut. After 15 games into the K1 League, he scored 4 goals and assisted ones. A goal would be great against mid-table team Incheon, which got the 2nd worse defense in the league. Also no other rare card forward is playing from my team, so this was an easy choice ones again.
